IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall in Southern and Western India, Heatwave Conditions in Northern States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting heavy rainfall over the next three days in several regions, including Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Today, isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in Kerala and Mahe, while similar weather conditions, along with gusty winds, are likely to occur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttarakhand.

In contrast, heatwave conditions are very likely at isolated places across parts of Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, the IMD said.

Additionally, warm night conditions are forecast at isolated locations in Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, continuing till tomorrow.

The IMD advises residents in affected areas to stay updated on local forecasts and take appropriate precautions against extreme weather conditions.
