RPF Tops Men’s Brass Band Category at 26th All India Police Band Competition

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) clinched the first position in the Men’s Brass Band category at the 26th All India Police Band Competition, held at Moula Ali in Secunderabad, showcasing musical excellence and ceremonial precision.


In the same category, Assam Rifles and the Border Security Force (BSF) secured the second position jointly. In the Women’s Brass Band category, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) emerged as the winner, while the Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) finished as runners-up.


For overall performance, Maharashtra Police was awarded the Men’s Championship Shield, while CISF claimed the Women’s Championship Shield, reflecting consistent excellence across categories.


The awards and trophies were presented by Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, during the closing ceremony held on Saturday evening. On the occasion, the Minister also released a souvenir magazine commemorating the event. Addressing the gathering, he praised the dedication and discipline of police personnel and congratulated the RPF for successfully hosting the competition.


About the Competition

The annual event witnessed participation from 24 police and uniformed service bands, representing state police forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and other security organisations. More than 1,300 band members, including 224 women, took part in the competition, highlighting India’s rich tradition of police band music and ceremonial culture.
