WTT Star Contender Brazil 2025: Indian Table Tennis Stars Set to Compete

The much-anticipated WTT Star Contender Brazil 2025 tournament kicks off today, 30 July 2025, and will run until August 3, taking place at the Rafain Convention Center in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. This prestigious international event is part of the World Table Tennis (WTT) Series, which features elite players from around the world competing for ranking points and global recognition.
WTT Star Contender: A key tier in the WTT event structure, ranked just below WTT Champions and WTT Grand Smash tournaments. It offers vital ranking points and serves as a platform for rising stars and established players alike.
India will be fielding a strong contingent across all categories — men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Men’s Singles
India’s challenge in the men’s singles will be led by:
Manav Thakkar
Harmeet Desai
Manush Shah
Snehit Suravajjula
Payas Jain
Ankur Bhattacharjee
These players have shown consistent form in recent domestic and international competitions and are expected to put up a spirited fight.
Women’s Singles
In the women’s singles category, India will be spearheaded by Manika Batra, the country’s top-ranked female paddler. She will be joined by:
Ayhika Mukherjee
Diya Chitale
Yashaswini Ghorpade
Swastika Ghosh
Manika Batra is known for her attacking gameplay and has been India's top face in international table tennis, notably winning medals at the Commonwealth and Asian Games.
Men’s Doubles
India will also have strong representation in the men’s doubles category, featuring three promising pairs:
Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah
Payas Jain and Ankur Bhattacharjee
Harmeet Desai and Snehit Suravajjula
These pairs combine both youth and experience, and have trained together extensively on the domestic circuit.
4. Women’s Doubles
In women’s doubles, Diya Chitale will team up with Yashaswini Ghorpade, aiming to capitalize on their synergy and recent performances.
Mixed Doubles
India will also compete in the mixed doubles category with two dynamic duos:
