INS Nistar, the Indian Navy’s first indigenously built Diving Support Vessel (DSV), was commissioned at Visakhapatnam on July 18, 2025. Designed for deep-sea saturation diving and submarine rescue missions, INS Nistar showcases India's maritime self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and strengthens its role as a net security provider in the Indian Ocean Region.
