Donald Trump launches $5 million ‘gold card’ website

Former US President Donald Trump has officially launched a new initiative called the "Trump Card", a high-value immigration pathway priced at $5 million, aimed at individuals seeking legal residency in the United States. On Wednesday, Trump unveiled a dedicated website, trumpcard.gov, allowing interested applicants to join a waitlist for what he describes as a “beautiful road” to life in America.

While the card has attracted significant attention, Trump has clarified that the ‘gold card’ will not grant automatic US citizenship, nor is he seeking Congressional approval for the program. Instead, he explained that the card is intended to serve as a legal pathway to permanent residency, potentially leading to citizenship, though the exact process for transitioning from cardholder to citizen remains unclear. According to White House officials, further details about the path to citizenship will be made available soon.

The initiative appears to be a replacement for the existing EB-5 investor visa program, which currently offers green cards to foreign nationals who invest in US-based ventures. Trump first floated the idea of the Trump Gold Card in February, positioning it as a more exclusive and premium alternative to traditional immigration channels.

On Thursday, in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, “For $5 million, the Trump Card is coming. Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up to ride a beautiful road in gaining access to the Greatest Country and Market anywhere in the World.”

The official Trump Card website features a striking gold-colored image of the card itself, emblazoned with Trump’s face and prominent American symbols such as the Statue of Liberty, the US flag, and the Great Seal (bald eagle). To join the waitlist, visitors are asked to provide basic information including their name, email address, region, and whether they are applying as an individual or as a business.

Applicants can choose their region from one of eight global zones: Europe, Asia (including the Middle East), North America, Oceania, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and Africa. The website does not currently offer a clear timeline for when full applications will open or how the process will proceed after registration.

As the program gains traction, questions remain about its legal standing, oversight, and implications for US immigration policy. Still, the Trump Card is already generating buzz among global investors and wealthy individuals seeking residency in the United States through a high-profile, fast-tracked route.
