In a rapidly escalating geopolitical development, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has issued a stern warning of "everlasting consequences" following precision military strikes carried out by the United States in coordination with Israel on three of Iran's key nuclear facilities. The targeted sites included Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—all of which are central to Iran’s nuclear energy and enrichment programs. These facilities are often under international scrutiny due to their potential dual-use capabilities, meaning they can serve both civilian and military purposes.
Responding via social media, Araghchi condemned the attacks as a blatant violation of several foundational international agreements. He specifically cited breaches of the United Nations Charter—which outlines the basic principles of international relations—along with international law, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The NPT is a global agreement aimed at preventing the spread of nuclear weapons and promoting peaceful uses of nuclear energy, while fostering disarmament efforts among nuclear-armed states.
Labeling the strikes as "outrageous," Araghchi emphasized that such actions would not go unanswered and would result in serious, long-term repercussions. His remarks came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly confirmed the joint operation, which marked a significant military escalation in the already strained relations between Washington and Tehran.
