Amid rising geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the affected regions. In response to the evolving situation, the MEA has established a 24×7 control room to monitor developments and provide real-time assistance to Indian citizens residing in or travelling through Iran and Israel.
The MEA has released a comprehensive list of emergency contact points to facilitate communication. These include a toll-free helpline number: 1800 118 797, along with three dedicated landline numbers: +91-11-2301 2113, +91-11-2301 4104, and +91-11-2301 7905. For instant messaging support, a WhatsApp helpline is available at +91-99682 91988, and citizens can also reach out via email at situationroom@mea.gov.in.
Additionally, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has activated its own 24/7 emergency helpline for Indian nationals in Iran. For voice-based support, individuals can contact +98 91281 09115 and +98 91281 09109. To facilitate digital communication, three WhatsApp support numbers have been provided: +98 90104 45557, +98 90159 93320, and +91 80868 71709. Furthermore, regional helplines have been set up for specific areas—Bandar Abbas residents can reach +98 91776 99036, while those in Zahedan can call +98 93963 56649. For email inquiries related to consular matters in Iran, individuals are encouraged to contact cons.tehran@mea.gov.in.
These efforts reflect India’s commitment to citizen welfare abroad, particularly during international crises. The establishment of such multi-channel support systems ensures that Indian nationals have access to timely assistance, critical updates, and necessary evacuation or coordination support if the situation escalates further.
