India Slams OIC for ignoring threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan

India has strongly condemned the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for making unwarranted and factually incorrect references to the country during the recent OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. In a sharply worded response, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that these comments were politically motivated and clearly driven by Pakistan, which, India emphasized, has institutionalized terrorism as an instrument of state policy—often referred to as statecraft.

India criticized the OIC for the continued misuse of its platform for narrow political objectives, warning that such actions not only compromise the organization’s neutrality but also its credibility and relevance on the global stage. Referring specifically to Pakistan's role, India expressed deep concern over OIC’s repeated failure to recognize the well-documented and persistent threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistani soil, which flies in the face of the global consensus on the need to combat terrorism in all its forms.

New Delhi made it clear that the OIC has no locus standi—meaning it holds no legal or moral standing—to comment on India’s internal affairs, including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which it reaffirmed is an integral and sovereign part of India. India urged the OIC to seriously reflect on the dangers of allowing Pakistan's propaganda to hijack and politicize its agenda, cautioning that continuing down this path could undermine the organization's purpose and trustworthiness.

Furthermore, India categorically rejected Pakistan's accusations of “unprovoked and unjustified military aggression,” describing them as baseless and misleading. India clarified that Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, was a precise and legitimate act of self-defence targeting terrorist camps operating from Pakistani territory. India also dismissed Pakistan’s claims of targeting only military installations as absurd, pointing out that its retaliatory actions not only failed but also recklessly endangered civilian lives and property, resulting in multiple civilian deaths and injuries.

Highlighting the irony of Pakistan attempting to lecture the world on counter-terrorism and human rights, the MEA called attention to Pakistan's own troubling record of state-sponsored terrorism, minority persecution, sectarian violence, and governance failures. India noted that such deflections are part of a pattern by Islamabad to divert global attention from its domestic challenges and international accountability.
