ISSF WC 2025: Sift Kaur Samra wins bronze in 50m rifle 3 positions

Indian shooter Sift Kaur Samra added another feather to her cap by clinching the bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup 2025 in Munich, Germany. The 23-year-old shooter delivered an impressive performance, registering a score of 453.1 in the final, which secured her a podium finish.

The gold medal in the event was claimed by Jeanette Hegg Duestad of Norway, who shot a remarkable 466.9, while Emely Jaeggi of Switzerland secured the silver with a score of 464.8. The strong competition reflected the high standards of this elite global event, which continues to attract top talent from around the world.

Samra’s bronze marks India’s second medal at the Munich World Cup, following a similar achievement by Elavenil Valarivan, who also won bronze in the women’s 10m air rifle event earlier in the competition. These consistent podium finishes highlight the depth and growing strength of India’s shooting contingent on the international stage.

The Munich edition of the World Cup is the third leg of the ISSF season, featuring nearly 700 shooters from 78 countries. With such a large and competitive field, each medal won further underscores the high level of preparation and performance by the Indian shooters.

Sift Kaur Samra’s success not only boosts India’s medal tally but also reinforces her position as one of the country’s leading shooting talents as preparations continue for major upcoming events, including the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle and beyond.
